a short summary of Tron Jordheim's sales training approaches:

  • Identifying customer needs: Tron Jordheim believes that the first step to closing a deal is to identify the customer's needs. Not in the typical way you might think. He helps sales people understand what the buyer is really buying! He teaches salespeople how to ask qualifying questions to uncover the customer's pain points and desired outcomes.
  • Overcoming objections: Tron Jordheim also teaches salespeople how to overcome objections. Although he doesn't;'t like using that word. He prefers to talk about hesitation and assurance. He provides them with specific phrases and techniques to handle all the ways people become unsure about making a purchase, even when that purchase would be beneficial to the buyer.
  • Building rapport: Tron Jordheim emphasizes the importance of salespeople building rapport with customers. He teaches them how to use body language, tone of voice, and active listening to create a positive relationship with the customer. Again.... not in the typical way you might think of this approach. He calls this part of the selling process "Getting over the idiot hurdle". You do not want your potential customers thinking you are an idiot. If you can get past that, you will be just fine!
